"It always seems impossible until it’s done"
About this blog
In this blog I share my lived experience in building successful social enterprises, offering insights into what worked well—and what didn’t. My writing often takes the form of practical tips for aspiring social entrepreneurs, alongside reflections on the challenges I faced, the support I needed, and the lessons I’ve learned along the way.
I also celebrate the successes—both my own and those of the social enterprises I founded—because every milestone matters.
At times, my writing gets personal. Founding a social enterprise isn’t just about business; it’s deeply emotional too.
I write about the things I didn’t know when I started—but wish I had. My hope is that this blog becomes a space where we can connect, support one another, and inspire a new wave of purpose-driven businesses.

About me
I am a social entrepreneur, innovator, coach, and LGBTQI activist, dedicated to driving sustainable and scalable social change. I founded Micro Rainbow and the Micro Rainbow International Foundation, both of which work to promote equality for LGBTQI people through housing, employment, and entrepreneurship—both in the UK and internationally.
As a pioneer in social investment within the LGBTQI human rights sector, I am passionate about developing innovative, sustainable, and replicable models for social change.
Impactful Initiatives
• In the UK, I established the first national housing scheme for homeless LGBTQI asylum seekers and refugees.
• In Cambodia, I designed and implemented the first microfinance program for LGBTQI people living in poverty.
• In Brazil, I launched the first small business incubator supporting LGBTQI entrepreneurs in poverty.
These award-winning initiatives have successfully attracted social investment and continue to create meaningful impact.
